This is a savory recipe with amazing flavors! The Marliss® Florida Citrus Secret Seasoning is the heart of this recipe. The brown butter sage takes the fish to an amazing level, bursting with flavor! Marliss® Florida Citrus Secret White Fish is sure to please! It goes well with Arroz Amarillo, Frijole Negros, Yucca Fries, or whichever Marliss® side recipe your family loves best!
- 4 pieces of good quality white fish (We used Swai)
- 1 stick (of good quality) butter
- Oil (We like EVOO) for coating the pan
- Marliss® Florida Citrus Secret Seasoning as needed to coat fish
- 2 Tbsp fresh sage
Directions
Step 1
Start by seasoning your white fish with an abundance of Marliss® Florida Citrus Secret Seasoning. Be sure to season the top and the bottom, letting the marinade sit for least 4 hours prior to baking, in the fridge. The longer it marinades, the more intense the flavor. Overnight is okay, but not necessarily better.
Step 2
Take out your white fish from the fridge at least 1 hour before baking. This way, you are not baking a cold fish. This will give it a nice crust and color. Preheat oven to 450°F. Next, coat a sheet pan with oil. (We like EVOO).
Step 3
Place your white fish on your pre oiled sheet pan, placing in the center of your oven on the middle rack. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until the white fish is cooked through and flakey. Make sure it has reached an internal temperature of 145° and is a golden brown.
Step 4
While your white fish is cooking, place butter in a medium sized skillet over medium heat. Let cook until the butter becomes amber in color and smells like almonds. Be careful not to burn the butter. Turn heat to low and skim off the foam from the browned butter. Next add sliced fresh sage. Continue to cook on low heat for 30 seconds and remove from heat.
Step 5
Remove white fish from the oven. Try alongside some Marliss® yellow rice, and cover with brown butter. Enjoy! The rich flavor of the brown butter and sage are a perfect complement to the fresh taste of the Marliss® Florida Citrus Secret Seasoning.
Goes wonderfully with Marliss® Arroz Amarillo and Marliss® Frijoles Negros.
